Crossing Borders is such an inspiring program. These students are attentive, willing to experiment with their cameras and very talented. We have studied perspective, details and portraits so far. We have 5 more weeks of class, and their best work will be on display later in the summer. More information on the exhibition to come.

VisionWorkshops to Be Featured at Conference

March 12, 2008

Steven Rubin, Assistant Professor of Photography at Penn State University, will be presenting at the Society for Photographic Education’s annual conference. Held in Denver, March 13-16, 2008, the conference spotlights such names as Lauren Greenfield and Edward Burtynsky. It is a busy conference, but on Friday, Rubin will make his presentation entitled: “From Changing the World to Changing a Person’s World: Questioning the Means, Motives and Modalities of Community Arts Projects in Photography.” Rubin has been conducting interviews with us and his presentation will feature work by VisionWorkshops participants from all programs.
