Twenty students gathered for National Geographic Society’s first Photo Camp in India. The photography workshop was held from Monday, Jan. 5, to Friday, Jan. 9, in the Jhadol area of Rajasthan and was developed in partnership with Sanjhi, a Rajasthan-based NGO working with media literacy and sustainable development. Among the staff was National Geographic contributing photographer Ed Kashi who mentored the teenagers from the Udaipur region as they explored and documented JhadolÕs communities and environment. The students, from rural and urban areas, photographed, edited, and created a portrait of this regionÕs ecological and social landscape. The workshop provided a rare opportunity to interact and collectively reflect on environmental issues.
